About Dredd
I’m Dredd, General Manager of ACS Media Group. I oversee our operations across the board — video content, media campaigns, overall strategy — and putting together the DJ lineup for Relay Weekend each year. It’s a role that draws on everything I’ve learned over several years in this community, and I take a lot of pride in helping ACS Media Group run the way it should: organized, creative, and built on good people doing good work to further the vision of The American Cancer Society.
I never planned on becoming a DJ — it was a friend who told me I should give it a shot, and I figured, sure, why not. That one “why not” turned into 20 years. What hooked me early on was the sheer thrill of it: having a room of 120 people genuinely enjoying themselves, calling out requests, feeding off each other’s energy. That feeling never really left me. What keeps me doing it now, two decades later, is something a little deeper — the chance to connect people to music, and through that music, to emotion and story. A great set isn’t just songs in a row; it’s a shared experience, and being the one who gets to create that for a room full of people is still a thrill every single time.
Since 2017, I’ve volunteered with Relay For Life of Second Life, and it’s the part of what I do that matters most to me. Cancer doesn’t ask permission before it takes someone — it’s taken too many good people from too many of us, and that loss is something I carry with me. Relaying is how I push back against that, in whatever small way I can. Every event I help organize, every dollar raised, every hour I give to this cause — it’s all in service of making the world a little better for the people who come after us. That’s not just something I say. It’s something I believe down to my core.
